Michael T. O'Sheasy, MBA (Georgia State University, 1974) is a Vice President at Christensen Associates. From 1980–2001, Mr. O’Sheasy directed the development and implementation of costing, pricing and innovative rate structures at Georgia Power Company, the largest operating company in the Southern Company system. He was responsible for retail and wholesale rate filings and other regulatory requirements, and has testified before various commissions on both costing and pricing issues. Recent testimony includes Proceeding to Examine Alleged Discrimination in the Application of Georgia Power Company’s Real-Time Pricing (RTP) Tariff before the Georgia Public Service Commission (December 2003), and The Application of East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc., Inter-County Energy Cooperative, Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative, and Salt River Electric Cooperative Corporation, for Authority to Implement a Fixed Bill Pilot Program before the Public Service Commission, Commonwealth of Kentucky (August 2004). Mr. O’Sheasy has published numerous articles on pricing in several journals including the TAPPI Journal, Public Utilities Fortnightly, Energy Pulse, Electric Perspectives, EPRI Journal, Energy Customer Management, and The Electricity Journal. On a national media level, he has been interviewed by USA Today, Newsweek, and National Public Radio. He has been featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal and has appeared live on CNN FN.
