Michael P. Welsh, Ph.D. (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1986) is a Senior Economist. He specializes in the collection and analysis of customer preference data. He has worked on projects to measure customer perception of electric service offerings, to document customer perceptions of links between economic deregulation and safety in the railroad industry, to measure customer preferences for alternative electricity billing products, and to measure customer values for electric power reliability. Prior to joining Christensen Associates, Dr. Welsh managed numerous qualitative and quantitative data collection projects at Hagler Bailly and HBRS Inc. His work has been published in the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and Land Economics.
