Productivity Measurement and Financial Analysis
Since 1983, Christensen Associates has been responsible for the official measurement of U.S. Postal Service Total Factor Productivity (TFP). The annual TFP measure is used to monitor Postal Service performance and is published in the U.S. Postal Service Annual Report, as well as reports to the United States Congress. Our methods and computational procedures have been reviewed and endorsed by both the Postal Rate Commission and the Office of the Inspector General. Christensen Associates also assists the Postal Service in monitoring performance by providing monthly and quarterly TFP measures.
In addition, Christensen Associates has developed a conceptual framework to evaluate the productivity growth implicit in proposed budget plans for future years. We have used this framework extensively to assist the Postal Service in its planning process.
