Douglas W. Caves, Ph.D. (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1980) is Vice Chairman. He has directed Christensen Associates' research and consulting practice for the electric utility industry since 1977. Dr. Caves has been an innovator in the design and evaluation of a wide range of competitive service offerings including real-time pricing, interruptible/curtailable service, and priority service. He has also been active in utility regulatory reform and incentive regulation. He has testified in numerous jurisdictions and his scholarly work has been published in a number of prestigious journals, including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Econometrica, and The Review of Economics and Statistics.
