Steve Braithwait specializes in retail electricity pricing with an emphasis on the measurement of customer price response. In recent years, he has managed load impact evaluations of a number of dynamic pricing and demand response programs, and has also estimated program benefits and costs. He assists clients in designing market-based electricity rates, including real-time pricing and critical peak pricing, and also demand response programs. He has provided expert testimony before public service commissions and arbitration panels in the areas of load forecasting, least-cost planning guidelines, and the benefits and costs of smart metering. He has delivered papers at numerous industry conferences on the topics of dynamic pricing, customer price response, load impacts of demand response programs, and load forecasting. Previously, Steve managed numerous projects in load forecasting, and demand-side management and planning at EPRI. In his free time, Steve enjoys photography and seasonal activities such as biking, water-skiing, cross-country skiing, and swimming.
