Christensen Associates initiated our work in the postal industry in 1981. Through
our long-standing relationship with the U.S. Postal Service, we have become
experts in understanding and analyzing the ever-changing economic issues in a highly
dynamic communications market. We measure system performance (TFP), create and
update cost models, conduct surveys, support pricing, and provide strategic
analysis. We have also analyzed postal issues in Canada and Britain.
In our work for the U.S. Postal Service, we receive and process large datasets in
various formats from numerous postal data systems, enabling us to pull together all
available information needed to solve a wide variety of problems. Using these
datasets, our institutional knowledge, and our statistical expertise, we also
design, refine, and implement data collection and analysis tools to gather and
analyze data not available from previously existing systems. We have presented
results from our studies to Postal Service management, and on behalf of the Postal
Service to the Postal Rate Commission, arbitration panels, and Congress.
